The world has made significant progress in the response to HIV/AIDS, but this progress has not been universal. HIV is increasing in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), where transmission rates and deaths from AIDS-related illnesses have increased significantly in the last 10 years. RADIAN, a groundbreaking partnership between Gilead Sciences and the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) was established to address the challenges in EECA, aiming to leave no one behind in the effort to end AIDS in the region. This session will draw attention to HIV in EECA, and provide the latest news on the progress and impact of the programmes supported by RADIAN. It will feature a panel discussion and Q&A session with RADIAN grantees and some of the RADIAN Changemakers, a group of remarkable grassroots leaders in the EECA HIV response, who will provide the audience with a unique on-the-ground perspective.
