Implementation Research (IR) can bridge the research–practice gap and create generalizable knowledge on how to effectively implement evidence-based interventions (EBIs) in healthcare and public health settings. To help inform implementation strategies to improve HIV prevention and care service delivery, ISCI coordinated a special issue of the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes (JAIDS) that will be published in July 2022. Selected authors contributing to the special issue will present findings on their IR projects funded through the National Institutes of Health's CFAR/ARC Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) supplement awards. These presentations will be followed by other scholars who will review the challenges, evidence gaps, and future directions in the field of IR to scale-out interventions nationwide to help end the HIV epidemic in the US. Lessons learned could also inform how other national strategies could apply IR to accelerate the uptake of EBIs and improve HIV outcomes.
