In light of recent advances in HIV management, national and international bodies around the globe have concluded that it is feasible to anticipate and work toward an end to the HIV epidemic, generally meaning an end to new infections with HIV and to HIV-associated morbidity and mortality among those living with HIV. In this educational program, we will focus on how HIV specialist healthcare professionals can help advance efforts toward ending the HIV epidemic by focusing on key priorities including reaching those who are still undiagnosed, maximizing linkage to ongoing care for people who test positive (or negative), optimizing antiretroviral initiation for both patient health and public health benefits, and optimizing HIV treatment persistence. Supported by an educational grant from Gilead Sciences, Inc.
