In partnership with Shot in the Arm Podcast, this session will explore how the experience of the HIV crisis for a major multinational corporation was adapted and applied in the context of COVID-19, a new global pandemic. With panelists from NGOs, Community-based organizations, business organizations and other partners, the session will explore how public-private partnerships were brought to bear in responding in real-time to SARS CoV2. Examples include:
sharing information with public and private sector partners about latest updates on clinical, behavioral, policy and occupational health advances in responding to COVID-19, building on the networks of contacts and partners developed over the course of the last 30 years of the AIDS response
sharing essential commodities, especially in the early phases of the pandemic - for example Chevron's support to grassroots organizations to distribute masks and other essential PPE commodities - sharing the experience of local partners in collaborating with the corporation.
sharing best practice with other businesses and business organizations, including GBC Health, and the evolving role of Health and Medical Departments as key sources of business critical guidance for business leaders in addressing strategic and operational questions evolving from COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns.
collaborations with clinical and policy partners on how operationalize national and international normative medical guidance as it evolved.
the evolving role of businesses as trusted sources of accurate pandemic response information for employees, their families and the broader communities.
