Youth leadership is a central element of equitable and transformative HIV and AIDS response. Young people's needs, priorities, and knowledge is often overlooked when it comes to HIV and AIDS policy, undermining their agency and the effectiveness of programmatic solutions. In preparation for the AIDS 2022 conference, the goal of this panel is to highlight the critical components of the conference platform, speaking with intergenerational activists on how best to support the amplification of youth and adolescent voices amidst the conference. This session will capture recommendations by highlighting activists' perspectives to ensure more transparent, participatory, and accountable means of youth engagement through the conference. It will also discuss progress, barriers, and challenges to youth participation within high-level spaces. Following this, a brief segment will provide an overview of how to navigate the AIDS 2022 conference. In particular, it will outline attending sessions specifically designed for advocates or youth, plenary sessions of interest, and how best to connect with fellow youth advocates.
