Community workshop

A guideline on sensitization for stakeholders and healthcare professionals has been developed as a part of a study titled 'Stigma reduction, Stakeholder Awareness and Knowledge enhancement on Transgender issues and on their rights'. The guideline aims to draw attention to various aspects of the trans community, such as their background, myths about the trans community, lack of awareness of trans issues and history, various definitions pertaining to gender, pressing health needs of trans people, communication tips and techniques to assist healthcare professionals in dealing with trans people to overcome the barriers for healthcare professionals toward providing this community with the required care, support and even empathy.
